Rejection then Retreat – Turning a Negative Into a Positive

If objection turns into rejection…

  • People have a natural tendency to agree to something smaller after they reject something
  • Don’t lose hope after the pet owner declines your first option
  • Choose wisely with what you recommend after the client says no, as they are more likely to say yes after that

EXAMPLE: When a client declines TPLO surgery, give them the best medical management plan you can because this is your best shot right now.

Discussion:

Can you think of a time that you used Rejection Then Retreat successfully?

What are situations where pet owners decline the first recommendation of care and often take the second?
