Dr. Roberta Westbrook

Dr. Roberta Westbrook is a passionate and accomplished veterinarian with extensive experience in high-volume spay/neuter surgery, shelter medicine, veterinary leadership, and veterinary education. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Prairie View A&M University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Dr. Westbrook began her veterinary career in small animal general practice in North Houston, where she quickly discovered her passion for surgery and community-based efforts to address pet overpopulation. Over the past two decades, she has built a diverse career spanning clinical medicine, animal welfare, veterinary education, and organizational leadership. Her professional experience includes high-volume spay/neuter surgery, shelter medicine operations, veterinary team development, and mentoring future veterinary professionals.

In addition to her clinical and leadership work, Dr. Westbrook has spent many years teaching and mentoring students pursuing careers in veterinary medicine and veterinary technology. She also served as an adjunct educator in shelter medicine, helping prepare veterinary students for careers in animal welfare and community medicine. Deeply committed to outreach and education, Dr. Westbrook is passionate about increasing access to veterinary care, advancing animal welfare, and inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Known for her collaborative leadership style, surgical expertise, and dedication to both people and animals, Dr. Westbrook continues to advocate for innovative, compassionate approaches to veterinary medicine and community animal care through her work with PetSet.

He has received the NAVC Practice Management Speaker of the Year Award three times, the WVC Practice Management Educator of the Year Award, the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Veterinarian of the Year Award from the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians.
